Mary Morgan has worked in the area of socio-economic development since 1988. She has expertise in conducting subsector & value chain analysis, market assessments, designing pro poor market development projects, and doing evaluations. She uses popular education techniques to demystify economic concepts to build capacity while leading market research and conducting value chain analyses with local staff. A gender analysis and community based approach is utilized in all assignments. She has worked as the Socio-Economic Sector Coordinator for CARE in Bosnia, was the Program Director for Katalysis Partnership and has been the Executive Director of an inner city lending agency in Vancouver. As a consultant, her client list includes 20 NGOs and several donors. She has authored several manuals concerning the themes of starting revolving loan funds, business skills for street youth, regulations for microfinance institutions in Central America, responding to natural disasters for MFIs, mentorship and social enterprise business planning.
