The purpose of this conference is to explore a range of issues including poverty, homelessness, environment, militarism, inequality, violence, and exclusion. The Conference aims to bring together those international development theoreticians and practitioners (i.e. academics, policy-makers, students, aid workers, and social activists) with an interest in these issues from different disciplines and sub disciplines – rural development, political science, international political economy, environmental studies, public policy, geography, economics, women’s studies, and sociology. CIDA supports a range of CASID panels focused on development-related topics in the context of: democratic governance; economic growth; education; environmental sustainability; and gender equality.
