The field of practice integrating microenterprise development and HIV & AIDS is still emerging. While factors such as gender inequities, conflict, poverty, stigma and poor infrastructure for service delivery add to the challenges of finding viable solutions, there is much to learn from current practice and innovation.
The interventions featured in this Promising Practices Series represent integrated programs that have been successfully implemented for at least one year, are based on sound practice in microenterprise development and have undergone the scrutiny of an external evaluation. Each case study offers information on the operating context, methodology used, positive results, lessons learned and contacts for further information.
Do you have a program that you want to be considered for the Promising Practices Case Study Series? Post a summary on the Microenteprise & HIV Café as a new discussion thread. You can also contact Kristen Eckert, HAMED working group facilitator (communities@seepnetwork.org).
