In 2008, its first year, the Social Enterprise Working Group will:
- Summarize social enterprise’s (SE) benefits, synergies, value added, and risks, related to other poverty alleviation practices
- Frame issues in a structure that lays the foundation for social enterprise methodology for poverty alleviation
- Illustrate framework by capturing stories and examples of existing social enterprises among SEEP members
- Determine if the Social Enterprise Working Group should be an ongoing concern of SEEP

- Positioning paper about social enterprise applications in poverty alleviation
- SE framework in international economic development/poverty alleviation context
- Published summary of virtual conference discussion
- Stories and examples that illustrate SE framework
- Recommendations for moving forward
Opportunity to get involved
- Review/comment on 30-page positioning paper (July 1-15)
- Participate in virtual conference to develop a Social Enterprise framework (July 15 – July 30)
- Provide brief examples of your social enterprise work to illustrate framework (August 1- September 15)
- Provide input on recommendations going forward (August 1 – September 30)
