  1. Analysis of win-win relationships along the tourism value chain
  2. Results from an economic impact measurement tool
  3. Case study of Finca Esperanza Verde

Background

Five organizations were selected based on their projects and programs in community-based ecotourism:

Participants met in Panajachel, Guatemala in November of 2007 to develop individual and group learning agendas. They met again in San Pedro Sula, Honduras in May of 2008 to discuss progress towards their goals and make plans for writing and disseminating learning products. SEEP staff members and the PLP facilitator continuously worked with participants to measure and improve the community impact of their local projects.

This PLP will produce three learning products to be published and disseminated during the fall of 2008. The products will cover lessons learned and best practices that translate ecotourism into employment opportunities and other benefits for local communities.
