Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship Photo Contest
The contest is open to Peace Corps volunteers and RPCVs and Development Specialists. The photographs should exemplify the notion of entrepreneurship using new technologies in developing countries.
What kind of photos are we looking for?
The theme should reflect people/ communities in developing countries empowered by new technology or the advancement of enterprise. Please set your cameras to the highest resolution possible.
What will happen to the photographs?
The winning photos will be announced July 7, 2008 and the photographers will be contacted via email. Prize money will be divided into 3 categories: 1st prize $500, 2nd prize $250 and 3rd prize $100. All photos become property of the Legatum Center and may be used in posters, brochures and our website. If your photo was not chosen for a prize but we use your photo in any way, we will award you $50 as a one-time user fee.
Who can enter?
The contest is open to all Peace Corps volunteers and RPCVs and other Development Specialists.
What are the rules for entry?
- Entries must be received by 5PM EST on July 6, 2008.
- Entries should reflect the theme of “Entrepreneurship for Development”
- You can only enter three photos per applicant.
- The size of the picture(s) should be at least 1819 × 2598 pixels (154 × 220mm horizontal at 300 dpi resolution), however a higher resolution is preferable. Please send the photos in PNG or JPEG format.
- By entering the contest, you give the Legatum Center the right to publish your photo in our productions.
- We reserve the right to crop the images as we see fit.
- Entries must be your own work.
- Entries should not have been published elsewhere.
- No responsibility is taken for ineligible entries or entries made fraudulently.
- By entering this competition you are accepting these rules and agree to be bound by them.
How to submit your photos?
You can submit your photos to the competition by simply emailing your images to legatumphotocontest@gmail.com
The following information must accompany your photos:
- your name
- your organization
- the country featured in your photo
- your e-mail address
- your postal address in the United States
- your telephone number, US or international
- a two-sentence caption with each photo. Please make sure the caption includes where and when the photo was taken.
