SERVHABILITY
CEO
Mission:
SERVH ABILITY’s mission is to empower the poorest and the disadvantaged in rural areas and to provide them with sustainable livelihood, and enable them to come out of their chronic poverty by channelizing the micro credit movement in the rural areas so as to bring about economic independence and self reliance..

I am not involved in Micro Finance but in Micro credit. I do not approve the way in which the poor are exploited by the so called MFIS and the lending Institutions. Most of the MFIs charge huge interest for their own benefit. But the poorest always remain poor. The success stories reported are only a few who happened to be running their businesses and are well to do among the so called“poor”.My concept of Micro Finance is very different and we have brought in A new Concept wherein the clients will have to pay only a very small interest and from that interest one percent goes back to the Community as Community Fund which will be available to the members in times of emergency.

Where I Practice:
INDIA
Question I’d Like to Discuss:
Why the Lending Organizations like World Bank, FWB, Village Banking,Grameen, Cordaid,Oxfarm,Acumenfund etc... are not willing to support programs for the Disadvantaged including HIV/AIDs, Leprosy and Differently Able persons at a nominal interest to start their own micro enterprises??
