Dear SEEP Network Members,
With its focus on practitioner learning, the 2008 SEEP Annual Conference provided a unique and valuable opportunity for sharing best practices and innovations designed to benefit microfinance and microenterprise practitioners.
We designed the conference agenda and focus according to your ideas, your needs, and your proposals. You are in the field facing the obstacles and crafting innovative solutions. You told us what hot topics and controversial issues matter most to you as a practitioner in the field.
This year, the number of workshops was expanded from 16 to 20 with the addition of a fifth workshop track. The 20 workshops were organized under the following themes: Finance (sponsored by J.P. Morgan), Poverty Outreach, Value Chain Development, Social Performance, and Tools.
In addition, due to popular demand, this year’s Global Network Summit presentations were integrated into the Annual Conference workshops. Four of the workshops were simultaneously translated into French and Spanish; each of the workshops and plenaries were transcribed and the notes are posted on the Annual Conference website.
