Draper Richards Foundation and Agora to Partner to Fight Poverty through Entrepreneurship

The Draper Richards Foundation recently awarded Ben Powell and Agora Partnerships its Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship. The fellowship recognizes Agora’s innovative model to fight global poverty by supporting small business entrepreneurs and includes a grant of $300,000 to be distributed to Agora Partnerships over the next three years. “Agora Partnership’s focus on helping small businesses in the developing world is critical to spreading opportunity and fighting global poverty,” said Bill Draper, a director of the foundation.

Rockefeller Foundation Awards Grant to Agora

The Rockefeller Foundation recently awarded a $250,000 grant to Agora Partnerships to help scale Agora’s model throughout Central America. Agora will work with the Rockefeller to create a model that can be replicated globally and that can support the emerging field of social impact investing.

“We are pleased to support Agora Partnerships whose management team exemplifies the combination of business savvy, determination and collaborative spirit that will allow the impact investing industry to flourish,” said Rockefeller Foundation Managing Director Antony Bugg-Levine.

The Rockefeller Foundation is helping to build the impact investing field through the Rockefeller Foundation Impact Investing Collaborative.
